WeekNotes 2026-40

A quieter build week. HF343 went out, OKR Daily Card picked up a couple of features I'd been missing, and the 50km walk is now just a few days away.

HF343 with Disco77 #

HF343 with Disco77 went out on Friday, and it features our very own Taylan's first release. Love seeing one of the crew get a play in another resident's mix, and that's what this whole thing is about for me, appreciating each other's work. I've linked his EP on Bandcamp in the notes so you can go and give it a listen.

The September newsletter covering HF339 to HF343 is drafted too. It's now being syndicated on our Patreon VIP Club alongside the existing Beehiiv mailing list, as I try to shift people across.

PETALS #

Mostly reviewing and housekeeping this week rather than building.

The Warp changes were the interesting ones. Copyable snapshot results landed, and they'll be available to all users soon, which should make it much easier to take your team's results somewhere else. Warp also cached the report petal averages per instance to cut down on repeat queries. And the cookie consent banner is up as a PR, well overdue. Analytics stays switched off until someone accepts, and you can withdraw consent again from the footer.

Brian's "Chart 10" PR also merged. It's part of encouraging more paying customers, one of my goals for the end of the year, so I gave it a quick test and moved on.

The bit of housekeeping I'm most pleased with is writing our PR conventions into the marketing site's CLAUDE.md, so any agent I point at the repo opens PRs the way I like them without being reminded:

## Pull requests

When creating a PR for this repo, set the following in GitHub:

- Project: `PETALS 🌺`
- Milestone: the current season (e.g. `Autumn 2026`)
- Labels: `Claude`, plus `Content` if the PR is for content or blog posts

OKR Daily Card #

Two gaps in OKR Daily Card got closed this week. You can now edit an outcome after creating it (title, key results, tasks and completion timeline), and add a daily action to an existing outcome without starting it again from scratch.

Both check you own the objective before changing anything, and both have unit tests. Jules did the build, I reviewed it and merged it.

Site tweaks #

The site index is now a proper sitemap. The old /site-index/ and /index URLs redirect to it with a 301, and I tidied the footer link and styling while I was in there. Hat tip to Trovster, whose impressive version inspired it.

Sudoku: a slower, messier week, with a 6:42 and seven mistakes on Sunday dragging things down. Fastest was 3:16.

Ready for the 50km #

Next Sunday I'm walking the Ultra Challenge Kent for Dementia UK, 50km from 7:30am. I'm feeling good and ready, so I've eased off the exercise a little this week. I'm still keeping the daily fitness habit going to stay limbered up, with a few short runs, some swims and walks, and a session on the elliptical.

Entertainment #

Watching: I've got into Celebrity Traitors for the first time, and it's the cast that's done it. I'm not bothered who wins, I just love the interactions between the celebrities. Also been enjoying The Gentlemen season 2, Jack Whitehall's Travels with My Father, Colin from Accounts, Would I Lie to You? and a bit of The Fast Show, plus Ocean's Eleven and Wasteman on the film side.

Listening: Olivia Dean's new album, a lot of Ben Westbeech and disco house, and a big Adele run over the weekend.

How this is made #

A couple of new inputs fed this week's post. The Netflix and BBC iPlayer viewing history for the entertainment section comes from Claude scraping both sites, and the listening comes from my Spotify plays logged to a Google Sheet. They sit alongside the Strava log and the habit trackers, so most of the numbers in these notes now come from data I'm already generating rather than me trawling through it.

More soon.
